To celebrate Engineers Week 2020, we had a visit from Mr. Z. He taught us all about the pushing and pulling forces through the use of magnets. The children then had to work in groups to create their own go-karts and had great fun racing them against each other!

The children participated in a skipping workshop with Mark from skipNrope on Friday, January 18th. Skipping is a terrific form of exercise that helps  a child’s agility, balance, hand-eye co-ordination and can increase speed through footwork. Pupils from Junior Infants to 4th class attended a fabulous performance of 'Old King Cole' by West Midland's Theatre in the Community Hall, Ardagh on Tuesday, December 11th. This festive treat was received enthusiastically by the children, who were delighted with this annual event.

The children of 3rd and 4th class used their December art classes to create these amazing Christmas Dioramas. They represent the story of the birth of Jesus in a real and creative way. They are extremely proud of their work, as is their teacher, Mrs Ruddle.

A bake sale was held in the school on October 25th. Children wore their Halloween costumes and enjoyed both buying and eating the tasty and tempting treats on offer. The parents and children went all out and the selection of confectionery on the day was second to none. The highlight of the day was the draw for Tom Flavin's scary Halloween Minion cake along with the two other cakes pictured below which were the creative genius...

This beautiful painting of the Ardagh Chalice by Ita Kehoe was donated to the school by Mary Hartnett, Carrigkerry. Mary wanted the painting to have a good home and very kindly offered it to the school. Thank you Mary. We are absolutely delighted.
